GEORGETOWN — Emilee Caroleanne Higgs, 21, passed away on the morning of January 12, 2014 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Emilee was born in Louisville, on June 24, 1992 and was a native of Georgetown. She was the only daughter of David and Terri Higgs who reside in Georgetown.
Emilee was a 2010 graduate of Scott County High School and was currently employed as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza in Georgetown. She was loved by her family and friends and enjoyed every moment of her life.
Emilee played basketball for Scott County Middle School and her freshman year of high school. She had attended Camp Pleasant Baptist Church in Frankfort and was an avid Louisville Cardinals fan.
Besides her parents, Emilee is survived by her four brothers, Dustin Higgs, Brian (Beverly) Maxie, Matthew (Avalon) Higgs and Jacob Higgs; a special niece and nephew, Levi Case Maxie and Gracelynn Faith Higgs. Other survivors include her grandparents, Margaret Sawyers, Jerry and Carol Gast and Bill and Esther Higgs; aunts, Rose Rogers, Anna (Gary) Gray and Mauricia (Michael) Sherwood; uncles, JB (Lori) Higgs, Myles (Tonya) Rogers and TJ Sawyers as well as a host of cousins and special friends.
Emilee was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Taylor Rogers and her maternal great grandmother, Anne Cope, who were both from Manchester.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home by Pastor Don Karsner. Casket bearers will be Dustin and Matthew Higgs, Brian Maxie, TJ Sawyers, Gary Hubbard and Gary Gray. Jacob Higgs will be a honorary bearer. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Emilee’s memory to either Cardinal Hill Spinal Cord Injury Department, or The Shriners Children’s Hospital, both in Lexington.
