Stephen “Stewy” Ballinger, 35, Frankfort, died at his home Saturday morning. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, 7 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Napier will officiate. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, at a later date.
A native of Frankfort, he was the son of Arthur and Cecie Harris Ballinger. He was a former employee of American Wire. He enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing and listening to music and was a “fixer” whether with cars, plumbing or anything broken.
Survivors include his parents; a daughter, Makaya Ann Marie Ballinger; a son, Benjamin David Edward Ballinger; two brothers, Bobby and David “Bird” Ballinger; favorite uncle, David Harris; former wife, Katy Ballinger, all of Frankfort; and several other uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert McDonald, Brian Harris, Megan Harris, Joe Ballinger and Nathan Pope
Visitation will be held Monday, 4 -7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home to cover funeral expenses.
