Massoud Kayvanjah, age 66, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A visitation and celebration of his life will be held Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the home of Jamshid and Lisa Baradaran, 108 Mill Rock Rd., Lexington, KY 40356.
Mr. Kayvanjah, born June 26, 1947, was a native of Iran. He graduated from the University of Kentucky as a mechanical engineer and retired from Air Quality Division, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet, Kentucky State Government. He also had a degree in telecommunications from the University of Tehran and was in national television news before coming to the United States. In the words of a friend, he was an indomitable spirit who never threw a single moment of his life away, one who shared his love of life with all who knew him, and who protected the most vulnerable among us.
His parents, Mohammad Bakher and Iran Jenabi Kayvanjah, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife (28 years) Janet Graham Jones; two sisters, Flor Kayvanjah Fazlali-Zadeh of London, England, and Farah Kayvanjah Sarikhani of Tehran and Birmingham, Alabama, and a daughter, Targol Kayvanjah, of Tehran.
