Carroll Thomas Hackett, 90, of Sanders, Ky, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Frankfort, KY.
He was born in Trimble County, Ky, on March 31, 1923 to the late Hubert Hackett, Sr. and Ethel Richmond Hackett. Carroll was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a farmer. He was of the Christian faith, a member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the Beef Cattle Association.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his daughter, Carole Bond Hackett and her fiancé, Tony Menechella of Frankfort, KY, two sisters, Joan (Bobby) Young of Carrollton, KY and Betty Jean Tomlinson of Worthville, KY, a brother, Hubert (Joy) Hackett Jr. of Carrollton, KY, several nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Nancy Ellis of Carrollton, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elois Bond Hackett.
The funeral will be on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Case will officiate the funeral services. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Ky.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County 4-H Camp in care of the funeral home.
