Funeral services for David Floyd, 76, Bagdad, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. The Rev. Jesse Baxter will officiate. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville.
He died Wednesday at Masonic Home in Shelbyville. A native of Finchville, he was the son of Howard and Ida Beatrice Raymond Floyd. David was a graduate of Bagdad high school class of 1956, a lifelong farmer in Shelby County, avid fan of University of Kentucky sports and member of Bagdad Baptist Church.
He is survived by brothers Leonard, Richard (Alicia) and Glenn (Judy) Floyd, all of Bagdad.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Taylor, Alma Garrett and Dolly Martin; brothers, Edward, J.T., Raymond, Roy, William, Clarence, Charles and Douglas Floyd.
Pallbearers will be Mike Taylor, Ricky and Ronnie Floyd, Matt Floyd, Kevin Floyd, Kent Balk and Hal Taylor.
Flowers are welcome, however, contributions may be made to Christiansburg Baptist Church Property Fund, 1037 Frys Oldburg Road, Bagdad, KY 40003.
