James E. Wright, 83, of Waddy, passed away on April 15, 2014 after a brief illness. An avid Shelby County farmer and retired machinist, he was born to the late Robert Orville and Stella Mae Harrod Wright of Franklin County. James and his wife of 61 years, Betty Ann Perry Wright, resided in Harrisonville. He was a corporal in the United States Army and a member of Shelby Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Wright of Frankfort and a granddaughter, Deanna Lee Clements of Waddy.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Ann Perry Wright of Anderson County; a son, Robert Leslie (Carol) Wright of Taylorsville; a daughter, Lou Ann Clements (Bob) Huffman of Waddy; two grandsons, James Wesley (Christine) Clements of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Aaron Scott Clements of Waddy; a sister, Dorothy Hutcherson of Frankfort; a nephew, David Glen (Ora) Wright of Kathy, Texas; two nieces, Wanda Hutcherson Meeks of Frankfort and Teresa Hutcherson (Mike) Flaugher of Nicholasville.
Pallbearers will be Donnie V. Mills, Steven Landers, Darrell Brown, James Clements, Aaron Clements and Jimmy Watts. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home in Frankfort. Bro. Dave Hamlin will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #4075.
