Dudley Jefferson Conner

Dudley Jefferson Conner, age 77, of Frankfort, Ky., a native of Albany, Kentucky, passed away on May 3, 2014 in Louisville. He was the son of the late William Warner Conner and Minnie Dicken Conner.

He was a 1954 graduate of Clinton County High School and a graduate of Berea College. He received a Masters Degree in 1961 from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and also a Masters in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.

Mr. Conner spent his career working in public health and served as Executive Director of the Kentucky Public Health Association and was a past president of the Southern Public Health Association.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Williams Conner, formerly of Clarkson, Ky., a daughter, Tonya Rager (Jeff) of Lexington, Ky., a son, Timothy Conner (Kimberly) of Jacksonville, Florida, two granddaughters, three grandsons and several cousins in Clinton and Russell Counties. Mr. Conner was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Conner.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, 312 Washington Street, Frankfort, Ky. On Wednesday, May 7, 2014, there will be visitation from 1-2 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington Street, Frankfort, services to immediately follow at the church. Pallbearers are: Irving Bell, Edward Burke, Collin Conner, Dylan Conner, Charles Geveden and Bruce Lane. Honorary Pallbearers are: Richard Bell, Robin Caney, Robert Doris, Fred Goins, Robert Halliday, Arthur Kelly, Robert Newberry and Leon Townsend.

Interment will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Dudley’s name may be made to Kentucky Public Health Association Scholarship Fund, PO Box 4647, Frankfort, KY 40604 or First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 211 Washington St., Frankfort, KY 40601.
