FALMOUTH, Ky. — Nancy Lee Purdy O’Hara, 76, of Frankfort, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Signature Health in Georgetown, Ky. Born in Covington, Ky., on January 8, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Dorothy Ware Purdy. Formerly she worked as the head housekeeper for Country Inn and Suites in Georgetown, Ky., the breakfast room attendant for the Best Western in Frankfort, Ky., and the deli attendant at the Winn-Dixie in both Bardstown, Ky., and Dry Ridge, Ky. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Frankfort, and she loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Marissa Hope O’Hara.
She is survived by 3 children: Lark “Buddy” (Kandy) O’Hara of DeMossville, Ky., Crystal Beighle of Frankfort, Ky., and Michael (Janet) O’Hara of Cincinnati, Ohio; 7 grandchildren: Cassie Beighle (David) Hamrick, Chase Beighle, Mason (Jenna), Logan, Scott (Jen), Christina, and Matthew O’Hara; 4 great-grandchildren: Kamden and Isabella O’Hara and Trey and Miles Hamrick; one sister, Sandra Biery of Erlanger, Ky.; and three brothers: Bill Purdy of Grove City, Ohio, Dan Purdy of Maineville, Ohio, and Ed Purdy of Union, Ky.; and a host of extended family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Serving as pallbearers will be her 5 grandsons and 3 brothers. The honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters. The visitation will be from 11 a.m-1 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home.
