Norma Wilson

Funeral services for Norma Wilson, 80, Frankfort will be held Monday 12 p.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Dr. Robert Browning will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  

A native of Frankfort, Norma was involved in volunteer services from the time she was nine. She served as the executive director of the Governor’s Office for Volunteer Services and the Kentucky Office of Volunteer Services. She was a twenty-six year veteran of state government and served on the boards of over thirty-seven organizations where she received more than fifty-one awards and citations. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Frankfort Women’s Club and First Baptist Church.

Norma lived a full life filled with love for the Lord, her family and her fellow man. She made a difference in the lives of everyone she met and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was the daughter of Mabel Jones and Henry Jack Wilson Sr. and was preceded in death by her sister, Debra Ann Wilson.

Survivors include a son Charles Martin (Anne) Johnson, Lawton, OK, daughter Teresa J. (Richard) Brown, Spartanburg, SC, brother Colonel Henry Jack (Ann) Wilson, Jr., Bellville, IL, four grandchildren Jessica, Rachel, Shelby, Katy and two beloved nieces Christie and Shari.

Visitation will be held Monday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.   • Sad to hear this. She lived just a few doors down from me on Juniper Drive, and I mowed her lawn for years. Her son and I hung around quite a bit. She went on to volunteer in the community quite a bit. My sincerest condolences to the family.
