GRAEFENBURG — Stanley D. Bruner, 83, of Graefenburg, died on Sunday, the 25th day of May, 2014, at Masonic Home Shelbyville.
A native of Shelby County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Derwood and Myrtle Frances Perry Bruner, and the widower of Nancy Lee Pullium Bruner. He was a member of the Beechridge Baptist Church. A lifelong farmer, he at one time was actively involved in training and working with horses. He was also a retired Kentucky State Police Capital Security guard, having seventeen years of service in state government, and his memberships included the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
His survivors include his sons, Roger S. Bruner and his wife, Martha, of Shelbyville, David H. Bruner of Graefenburg, and Mark W. Bruner and his wife, Mary Ann, of Graefenburg; his daughter, Wanda Lee Monarch and her husband, Tom, of Bagdad; his brothers, Austin Bruner and Earl Bruner, both of Waddy; his sister, Sadie Hill of Jeffersontown; and his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, the 29th day of May, 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Reverend Chuck Umholtz officiating. Interment will be in the Bagdad Cemetery in Bagdad, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, 28 May 2014, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville.
