SHELBYVILLE — Lawrence “Larry” Robert Kelsey, age 50, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Celebration of Life services for Larry will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the church beginning at noon.
Larry was born in Fulton, N.Y. on December 2, 1963. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and son. His life was filled by his love of sports. He served as a youth baseball and football coach for various teams. During his lifetime he played baseball, football, softball and ice hockey including the Black Knights and Ice Dogs hockey teams. He completed the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was an avid Tennessee Titans football fan. Larry was a team leader for Amcor Flexibles in Shelbyville.
Larry is survived by his wife, Patricia Lynn Terry Kelsey; sons, David Kelsey, Fulton, N.Y., Shawn Kelsey, Shepherdsville, Ky., Wesley Harrod, Frankfort; daughters, Katie Kelsey, Fulton, N.Y., Jennifer Ewell (Sylvester), South Boston, Va.; father, Robert Kelsey (Jackie), Statesville, N.C.; mother, Phyllis Proppe Kelsey, Fulton, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Arionna and Tyson Ewell and Caden Kelsey. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Henry and Mable Kelsey and maternal grandmother, Philomena Proppe.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Black Knights Hockey team.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate expressions of sympathy in his memory to a local Special Olympics organization.
