Franklin Delano Gibson, 79, formerly of Frankfort, died May 30, 2014, in Okeechobee, Fla.
Services for Mr. Gibson will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at North Frankfort Baptist Church with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will also be at the church on Monday beginning at 12 p.m.
He was born October 22, 1934, in Harlan, Ky., to Luther and Lillie Mae Brymer Gibson. Mr. Gibson proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was very outgoing and friendly and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and talking to people. He was a retired maintenance superintendent for the Kentucky State Police Headquarters. Mr. Gibson was a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Gibson; his parents; nine brothers and six sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Withrow (David) of Owenton, Ky., and Mildred “Sissy” Davis of Okeechobee, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
