Lonnie Ray Lathrem, age 65, passed away following a brief illness Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Baptist Health, Lexington, Ky.
Services for Mr. Lathrem will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. David Rayborn officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from
He was born October 18, 1948, in Frankfort. Mr. Lathrem retired as a shipping supervisor from Buffalo Trace Distillery. He was a former employee of GE. Mr. Lathrem served in the Kentucky National Guard in 1967. He enjoyed fishing, playing with his great grandchildren and was an avid Wildcat basketball fan.
Mr. Lathrem was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue Shields Lathrem and his mother, Ellen Irene Murphy Lathrem. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Lathrem, Frankfort; his father, Gayle Lathrem; grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin Jackson, Brandy Smalley, Rachel Taylor (Myles); five great-grandchildren, Myles Taylor Jr., Brayden Taylor, Levi Starcher, Aiden Jackson, Silas Hampe; three brothers, Clark Lathrem (Mary), Indianapolis, Ind., Carl Grubbs (Sharon), Frankfort, Mike Lathrem (Pat), Bowling Green; two sisters, Gala Hollon (Bill), Willisburg, Licia McCarty (Neil), Winchester; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Pallbearers are Jody Hollon, William Hollon, Randy Hollon, Nolan McCarty, Neil McCarty and Travis Johnson.
