BAGDAD — Hazel Clark Stivers, 86, died on Wednesday, the 11th day of June, 2014, at the Norton Hospital in Lousiville. Born in Bagdad, she was the daughter of the late Rice and Myrtle Elizabeth Jennings Clark and the widow of John Harrison Stivers Jr. A homemaker, she was also a former seamstress and floor manager at the old Lee-McClain Company in Shelbyville. She was a member of the Indian Fork Baptist Church, and her memberships also included the Milestone Quilting Club and the Bagdad Homemakers.
Her survivors include her son, Glenn Stivers and his wife, Teresa, of Bagdad; her daughter, Cherie Stivers of Frankfort; and her two grandchildren, Devon and Jared Stivers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, June 16, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with the Rev. Josh Rucker and the Rev. Ray Cummins officiating. Interment will be in the Bagdad Cemetery in Bagdad.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., Sunday, June 15, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, and expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Indian Fork Baptist Church, in care of Debbie Slattery, 730 Kentucky Highway 12, Frankfort, Ky. 40601.
