Chester C. Tipton Jr.

Funeral services for Chester C. Tipton, Jr., 70, Frankfort will be held Monday 2 p.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Hinton will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery where VFW Post 4075 will perform military honors.

Chester died Wednesday at his residence. A native of Ironton, Ohio, he spent his career working road maintenance for the Transportation Cabinet. A veteran of the United States Army, he served his duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of Holistic Life Church, Frankfort, Blue Moon where he served as cook, and manager of Moon Struck. Chester loved fishing, cooking, baking and being with his family. 

He was the son of Chester C., Sr. and Helen Little Tipton.  Survivors include his wife, Linda Gaines Tipton, Frankfort; sons James (Jamie Manley) Caldwell, Jeffersonville, Ind., and David (Trazanna) Caldwell, Louisville; daughter Christie (Jason) Wise, Frankfort; adopted sons Dennis Hammond, Louisville, and Jon Langworthy, Mt. Sterling; sister, Debbie Whicoff, Ironton, Ohio; six grandchildren Garret, Jessi, Dustin, Kagan, Ethnee and Lincoln; and his beloved Pomeranians Toby and Sunny.

Bearers will be James and David Caldwell, Dennis Hammond, Garrett Goettle, Jon Langworthy and Jason Wise. Honorary bearer will be Charles Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
