Ronnie Lee Short, age 54, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at University of Kentucky Medical Center following a long illness.
Services for Ronnie will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
Ronnie was born March 4, 1960, in Oxford, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed mowing grass, taking his dogs for rides in his truck and building and collecting model cars. Ronnie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Burnam and Vola Richardson Short; a brother, Neal B. Short Jr.; and a niece, Jennifer Brewer-Webb.
Ronnie is survived by his sisters, Janice (Danny) Brewer, Joyce (Paul) Cooke, Eva Haynes, Charlotte (Franklin) Brophy, Connie (Helge) Andersen, Tammie (Mark) Stamper; brother, Chris (Donna) Short; special nieces, Amber Mahoney, Amy Young; special great-nephew, Brandon Mahoney; several nieces and nephews; and his four-legged companion, Dot.
Pallbearers are Ryan Eastman, Jamey Eastman, Darrell Brophy, Jerry McGuire, Matt Mitchell and Davey Kirk. Serving as honorary bearers will be Eddie Green III and nieces.
Flowers are welcome or expressions of sympathy in his memory are encouraged to a charity of choice.
