Gary Poole

VERSAILLES — Gary Stephen Poole, 67, husband of Brenda L. Campbell Poole, died Friday, Aug. 8.

Born in Dawson Springs, he was a son of the late Clyde and Nina Mae Lisanby Poole. Gary had obtained a master’s degree in engineering from UK and was a retired Civil Engineer for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He was a Baptist, a U.S. Army veteran serving 1970-72, was a member of the American Legion, the UK Alumni Assoc., the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a strong supporter and donor of the Kentucky Blood Center. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lori Campbell (Tracy Jarvis) Poole, and a son, Brandon Poole, both of Versailles; four sisters, Sue Monks, Connie (Elmo) Littlejohn, Brenda (Buddy Johnson) Wallace, all of Dawson Springs and Donna (Jerry) P’Pool of Ill.; a sister-in-law, Loretta “Sibby” Poole of Dawson Springs; and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Campbell of Versailles.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Dearing and two brothers, Arnold and Randy Poole.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home.  Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Brandon officiating.
