Hettie Stacy

Celebration of Life Services for Hettie Irene Smith Stacy, 90, will be observed at Camp Pleasant Baptist Church at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, with Brother Don Karsner officiating.  

Mrs. Stacy passed away Aug. 9, 2014, at Bradford Square Nursing Home.

 A native of Franklin County, many will remember Hettie as a former waitress for Frisch’s, The Statesman and Jim’s Seafood. She was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 4075 and Camp Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by six sons, Jon Michael and Brian Dennis Stacy, Colmesneil, Texas, Jeffrey Dathan and Robert Mark Stacy, Fla., and Timothy Drew and Barry Freeman Stacy, Frankfort; daughter, Judith Lynn Stacy Hammond, Frankfort; brother, Duard “Shorty” Smith, Lawrenceburg; 18 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Hettie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Daniel Stacy II; parents, George Harrison and Jennie Moten Wilson Smith; son, James Daniel Stacy III; daughter, Patricia Jo Stacy Oney; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Hettie’s memory are encouraged to her favorite charities, American Diabetes Association, P.O.
