Robin Lanter Robertson, 59, of Lexington, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at her home.
Robin was born on October 5, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Cecil and Gene Armstrong Lanter. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a retired systems analyst for the former Kentucky Department of Information Systems.
She was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, and a member of the Porter’s Pals group at Southern Hills.
Robin was an animal lover, especially of dogs, and that love was reciprocated by many dogs through the years. She was also an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. Additionally, Robin enjoyed gardening and photography.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim Robertson; her daughter, Jamie Robertson; son, Matt Robertson; loving step children Jeff Robertson (Stephanie) and Leigh Lichaa (Eric); step grandchildren Will, Katie, Drew, and Ben; and her mother-in-law, Evelyn Ewan Robertson. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, twin Jeanne Carol Lanz, and Cherie Kipfer (John); a niece, Katie Kipfer Sheehan (Bruce); a nephew, Michael Kipfer; and longtime friend Deana Huff. Robin is also survived by her dogs Haley and Gibbs, and dog-niece Mattie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Southern Hills United Methodist Church, 2356 Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be on Friday, August 29 from 4-9 p.m. at Milward Funeral Home on Southland Drive. Burial will be at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
