671, "Now we know where you get your "facts." New York Times and so on. HaHaHaHaHa!!!! Everybody, except people like you, know that they are the most biased media in the country." ................................................................................................................................................................................................. That is TIME magazine, Nimrod. I rest my case. ................................................................................................................................................................................................. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1868367,00.html
They came straight from the horses mouth. You would know that if you paid attention to the news and listen. Even your beloved Fox news said he has flip flopped on a lot of issues.
uk, that's your problem. As I stated before, I'm going to vote for the lesser of two evils, and that ain't NOBAMA. And as far as those "quotes," where did they come from, NYT, MSNBC, etc.? HaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!
Which one of these Romney's are you going to vote for. “I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years we should sustain and support it.” “Roe v. Wade has gone too far.” “I don’t line up with the NRA.” “I’m a member of the [NRA].” “I like mandates. The mandates work.” “I think it’s unconstitutional on the 10th Amendment front.” “I respect and will protect a woman’s right to choose.” “I never really called myself pro-choice.” “I saw my father march with Martin Luther King.” “I did not see it with my own eyes.” “I supported the assault weapon ban.” “I don’t support any gun control legislation.” “I think the minimum wage ought to keep pace with inflation.” “There’s no question raising the minimum wage excessively causes a loss of jobs.” “I will work and fight for stem cell research.” “In the end, I became persuaded that the stem-cell debate was grounded in a false premise.” “I would like to have campaign spending limits.” “The American people should be free to advocate for their candidates and their positions without burdensome limitations.” “I’m a strong believer in stating your position and not wavering.” Source “I changed my position.” “Detroit needs a turnaround, not a check.” “I’ll take a lot of credit for the fact that this industry’s come back.” “I’m not in favor of privatizing Social Security or making cuts.” “Social Security’s the easiest and that’s because you can give people a personal account.” “I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.” “Ronald Reagan is… my hero.” “I’ve been a hunter pretty much all my life.” “Any description of my being a hunter is an overstatement of capability.” “If Massachusetts succeeds in implementing it, then that will be a model for the nation.” “What works in one state may not be the answer for another.” “It was not my desire to go off and serve in Vietnam.” “I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there.” “It’s a tax cut for fat cats.” “I believe the tax on capital gains should be zero.” “It’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.” “He’s going to pay, and he will die.” “Relative to the leading candidates, some people see me as being more conservative.” “I’m not the most conservative candidate.” “I’m not the most conservative candidate.” “The TARP program… was nevertheless necessary to keep banks from collapsing in a cascade of failures.” “When government is… bailing out banks… we have every good reason to be alarmed.” “These carbon emission limits will provide real and immediate progress.” “Republicans should never abandon pro-growth conservative principles in an effort to embrace the ideas of Al Gore.” “This is a completely airtight kennel mounted on the top of our car.” ‘They’re not happy that my dog loves fresh air.” “Those… paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a process toward application for citizenship.” Source “Amnesty only led to more people coming into the country.” “When I first heard of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, I thought it sounded awfully silly.” “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has worked well.” These are all quotes from him....his words. So tell me which Romney are you voting for?
Well of course you didn't hear Romney say he would raise taxes on the middle class. But if you do your research you will find it in the studies done. Do you think he would shoot himself in the foot that way. You can never believe what he says cause he changes his position every day. Flip Flop....and if you think Fox news is fair and balanced well just go to the web site and see for your self. And by the way I am not a Democrat..I am a independant. But I will take Obama any day of the week over Romney.
1713, so let me get this straight. The majority of Kentuckians are dumb, and people like you are ALWAYS right? You are REALLY AMAZING. Maybe you should run for KING of America. Now we know where you get your "facts." New York Times and so on. HaHaHaHaHa!!!! Everybody, except people like you, know that they are the most biased media in the country. At least, Fox News gives BOTH sides of the argument, which you CAN'T say about NYT, MSNBC, etc. with a straight face. No one can address any of YOUR "facts" because they are NOT the REAL FACTS. Talk about batting O, have you looked in the mirror, lately. Maybe, you're the one talking out of their arse. You know what they say, be careful about pointing your finger at someone, because you got four pointing back at yourself. ukfan, "if you cannot afford healthcare insurance the government will help subsidize that person...." Just where does the government get THEIR money? HMMMM!!!!! And just where did you see where Romney say he was going to tax the middle class to pay for the tax cut for the 1%? I must have missed that.
1158, "Bush had to get money for the war on terror so he made a bad agreement with the Dems the fund the war in exchange for "let everyone have a house" legislation." ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Fractured FOX News fairy tales? Bush's over $1 trillion bill for funding the war on terror was NOT paid for during his administration...it was borrowed from China. Bush left it and a lot more for President Obama to pick up, which he has (and you guys are blaming him for doing it). Dohh. Don't take my word for it.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1868367,00.html ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ Some times the talking heads, that you are apparently listening to, are talking out of their arse. This stuff ain't that hard to look up.
671, so now we know that your really good at name callin', but how about addressing any of the facts that I presented? So far you batting 0. You guys can't even get the basic time line straight about what happened under Bush and what occurred under the present administration. That is the problem with low-information voters. They are a danger unto themselves. The sad part is that the rest of us get dragged along for the ride.
1158 The housing market started going in the toilet when bush was in office. News article after news article on the internet stating the housing market was in a decline as early as 2006 and was in full bust mode by 2007. bush was told and had warning signs he ignored them and did nothing. You want to blame the president for something that had happened on Bush's watch. Obama wasn't even president then. As far as jobs.....can you say fillibuster?
L!!!!O!!!!L!!!! You're RIGHT 1158. LIBERALS NEVER want to accept the REAL FACTS. SURPRISE! SURPRISE! I've been a CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT all of my life, but people, like 1713, make me ashamed to be associated with the party. Get us a candidate, like JFK, and I'll be proud of the DEMOCRATS, again. NOBAMA don't fit that bill. AND THEM THAR'S ARE THE REAL FACTS, sissy.
Dodd/Frank caused the current economic crisis? Fractured fairy tales...sheesh! Dood/Frank was the RESPONSE to the financial meltdown. Years without accountability for Wall Street and big banks brought us the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, the loss of 8 million jobs, failed businesses, a drop in housing prices, and wiped out personal savings. ................................................................................................................................................................................................ The failures that led to this crisis required bold action. Dodd/Frank restored responsibility and accountability in our financial system to give Americans confidence that there is a system in place that works for and protects them. We must create a sound foundation to grow the economy and create jobs. Dodd/Frank was the first step to do that. Them's thar are the facts, buddy.
Yes 1713, better start eating. Bush had to get money for the war on terror so he made a bad agreement with the Dems the fund the war in exchange for "let everyone have a house" legislation. Do not let the talking heads fool you, it WAS the Dodd/Frank bills that caused the country to go bankrupt. Wish you libs would check the facts instead of what MSNBC tells you.
1158, the liberals NEVER want to accept the FACTS. It's like they are using blindfolds and earplugs. They don't like the TRUTH. Better start eating, 1713.
Because Bush did not have a single veto for 6 years until the Democrats took over Congress, and then he went wild afterward. If that is taking control, I will eat my hat.
UK why don't you answer the question? Why are you ignoring the fact that the Dems where in control of congress when the economy took a dive? Do you think Dodd and Frank are heroes?
671...let me ask you one thing....why would the president do all the things you say he is going to do what is his motive? But his health care program states that if you can not afford health care insurance the government will help subsidize that person to help buy insurance. As far as redistribution what do you think Romney is going to do when he taxes you to help pay for the big tax cut he is going to give the 1%? Sorry that's two questions.....
UK, Sorry you apparently didn't read my entire post. I NEVER said that I heard that from anyone. NEVER. OH REALLY? That is my OPINION, based on NOABAMA'S past remarks, e.g. the redistribution of wealth. He wants to take what WORKING people have earned and give it to people, who CAN work, but WON'T, because they can MAKE MORE by living on WELFARE. He also wants to FORCE everyone to buy health insurance, and if they can't afford it, they'll be FORCED to pay another TAX. The deficit has grown more under the NOBAMA administration than any other administration IN HISTORY. Will future generations be able to afford that? These are all FACTS and I could go on. NEVER. OH REALLY? In your world, I guess you are entitled to YOUR OPINION, but I'm NOT entitled to MINE. I guess that sounds right.
WOW, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. We all know that the Bush administration existed. And most of us also know that the last two years of the GW administration, both houses were controlled by the DEMOCRATS. But, you ignore that FACT, for convenience. Oh, well.
The Fright Wing heads are so far in the bubble that they don't know what reality is. In their reality, Obama is a Kenyan who has no legitimate birth certificate. The President is a socialist who hates business, but somehow the DOW climbed from 6,000 to 13,000 on his watch. They believe that the Bush Administration did not exist, even though it did with disastrous results less than 4 years ago. There is no convincing them otherwise, regardless of what facts are presented. ................................................................................................................................................................................................. Facts can be manipulated and Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are masters at it. But often they don't even try to manipulate the facts...they just lie. Shapeshifting is exactly what Mitt is doing, which makes it a very appropriate term to describe him. Even his own side openly admits that...it was his campaign chair who coined the term "Etch-A-Sketch" for what Romney is NOW doing. ................................................................................................................................................................................................ I DO have something against Romney's character...he doesn't have any. I think that he and Ryan are thoroughly dangerous to the middle class's American way of life, and that their overt dog-whistle politics is very damaging to society. I believe that he is insincere in his claims to try to make the world a better place, and that his motivations are based on his/and other billionaire's own economic gain. As he has said when he thought nobody but rich people were listening, the rest of the country can go to the dogs as far as they are concerned. They really have no allegiances to anything but money, which they have scattered all over the world in hidden accounts to avoid paying their fair share of taxes on it. These rich folks have nothing in common with you or I. They certainly do not have your interests at heart, yet you support them anyway. Why? I believe that Romney did some good things along with the Democrats (87%) in his state's Legislature during his governorship (like Romneycare, which was the model for Obamacare), but those days and THAT guy are long gone now. ................................................................................................................................................................................................. It looks like from the polls that the American people will reject R&R this time around and there just aren't enough angry old white guys left for this Southern Strategy stuff to work again. I hope so. It is full of hate and discrimination and appeals to some folks's darker sides which divides us.
When have you heard that the president will stop your freedom of speech or personal opinion? NEVER!
When have you heard that the president will stop your freedom of speech or personal opinion? NEVER!
UK, you are exactly right. However, you apparently have forgotten that up until 2007, when the DEMOCRATS took control of both houses, Bush had done FAIRLY well. But you probably won't accept that FACT. But, that's ok, that's what liberals do and you are entitled. I have my OPINION and you have yours. However, if NOBAMA is reelected, we MIGHT just see that RIGHT disappear.
I am so thankful that we don't have a Bush in office now but his administration is the one that got us into the mess. You act as if all this economic mess is the president's fault but when he came into office we were already in a death spiral. At least we are not bleeding jobs anymore. We are adding jobs. So if god forbid Romney is elected will he take responsiblity for the economy on day one? I think not.
Sorry you can't see this. Oh well!!!!!!!
So, what's the difference. When anything goes wrong, it's someone else's fault, that hasn't been in office for almost 4 years. That's what you are saying, isn't it?
671 ...yeah right ....when there is bad news it's Obama's fault ...when it's good news the Bush administration made that happened. So I guess that G. Bush is responsible for the unemployment rate dropping to 7.8%.
and credit for this: U.S. Added 114,000 Jobs in September; Unemployment Rate Fell to 7.8% The nation’s employers added 114,000 jobs in September, a modest showing, the Labor Department reported Friday. But the unemployment rate dropped to 7.8 percent, the lowest since President Obama’s first month in office.
Funny how the left has forgotten that GW did fairly well before 2007. Then the democrats took control of the House and Senate. HMMMM. The left is still living in the past. Just can't get over it. So, So, sad.
President Obama has been in office for 4 years, and it is time that he gets credit for avoiding The Great Depression 2.0, 31 consecutive months of steady positive job growth after Bush Administration and his trickle-down policies was losing 800,000 jobs a MONTH, and the DOW going from 6,000 to 13,000. If Obama is so bad for the economy, why is the DOW now at 13,000? It is time for the right to acknowledge that Obama "built it". Need4speed, snort any Koolaide lately?
That's part of the problem with republicans they all think this is a game. This is people's lives we are talking about here. It took 8 years for Bush and his cronies to all but destory this country and you all want the president to fix your all's mess in less than 4 years.
1713 Obama has been the president for close to 4 years. It's time to take ownership. Football coaches only get three to four years to turn a team around. Time for a new coach...

aah, I see
btw, who IS the author? I'm tired of these anonymous opinions. At least identify yourself with an alias.
This picture is so blatantly biased and insulting that the author should be ashamed.
Why do the editors continue to perpetuate the myth that the President is responsible for the nation's current employment woes? As can be seen in the following BLS chart, the unemployment rate started its climb under the hapless Dubya Bush Administration in January 2007 and spiked beginning in January 2008 and peaking out in October 2009 at 10%. Since then, under the expert tutelage of the Obama Administration, the unemployment rate has been steadily declining down to the current 8.1%. The country was losing 800,000 jobs a month when Obama took office and on the precipice of the worst economic forecast since The Great Depression. The only one offering any plausible solutions to unemployment during the debate was President Obama. Romney was offering only his usual snake oil, albeit in a rather overly enthusiastic manner. ................................................................................................................................................................................................ http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000
