Fantasy worlds collide when Elkhorn Middle School presents When Dorothy Met Alice or the Wizard of Wonderland by Joseph Robinette. The play is the story of a boy named Judson who nods off while reading and finds himself helping Dorothy, Alice, and all the other characters from Oz and Wonderland outwit a wicked witch and mean queen. He helps them come up with a plan that allows everyone to return to where they belong, including his warm bed in New Jersey.
The play will be performed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 24, 25 and 26. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, with a special $10 family price on Sunday. Senior passes will be honored at all performances.
Cast members are Nick Johnson as Judson, Leanna Wardrip as Dorothy, Audrey Wunderlich as Alice, Jacquie Akre as the Wicked Witch, Toni Holland as the Queen of Hearts, Sam Themer as the Mad Hatter, Stephanie Robinson as the White Rabbit, Olivia Charles as the Dormouse, Hal Rhorer as the Scarecrow, Christina Lynch as the Tin Woodsman, and Derek Roberts as the Cowardly Lion.
Mary Good, Alexa Ferrell, Alex Wilcox, Felisha Sloan, Jessica Wiard, Larkin Tyler, Cindy Uschan, Sarah Marshall, Katelyn Sock and Kelsey Cummins are the extras. Molly Davis is Stage Manager and the play is directed by Kate Dominick.
