Rosie the Riveter
Angela Bartley, of Louisville, will portray Rose Will Monroe, "Rosie the Riveter", at the 73rd annual dinner meeting of the Franklin County Homemakers, 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 15, at the Franklin County Extension Office. New officers will be installed.
This program is a Kentucky Chautauqua Performance and funded in part by the Kentucky Humanities Council, Inc. and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
to Rose Club
Laura Hayden will speak on Rose Maintenance at the 7 p.m. Monday meeting of the Capital City Rose Club at Wilson Nurseries, East-West Connector. The public is invited.
The Capital City Chorale will hold its Spring Concert Tuesday, May 16, 7 p.m., at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane. Gary Johnson directs the group and the concert will feature a guest appearance by No Tools Loaned. Admission is $6 per person at the door with children 10 and under admitted free. A reception follows the concert.
for Junior Miss
The Franklin Count Junior Miss Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Frankfort Younger Womans Club, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19, at Western Hills High School.
The program is open to young ladies who live in Franklin County and have completed their junior year of high school and will be seniors in the 2006-07 school year.
Young ladies interested in participating in the pageant should contact Renee Gibson at RB Brown State Farm Insurance Agency, 875-1301. Interested participants may also e-mail Gibson at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Sarandon Woodson is co-chairing the event with Gibson.
Sept. 22-23 reunion
A reunion is planned for Sept. 22-23 for all who attended Good Shepherd grade school before 1966 or Good Shepherd High School. Invitations were mailed to known alumni in April, but if you are an alumnus and did not receive and invitation, contact Stephanie Sims (223-5041) or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org providing a current address. Also, addresses of other classmates would be appreciated.
The weekend will include a grand reunion, golf scramble and dinner /auction.

The Franklin County High School class of 1964 is planning a 60th birthday reunion celebration for May 20, 6 p.m.-1 a.m. Dress is casual and the cost is $25 per person.
