The Frankfort High School Class of 2006 raises the curtain on a rootin tootin melodrama Deadwood Dick, by Tom Taggart on Friday, May 19, at 8:30 p.m., providing an excellent opportunity to see faces onstage that are usually seen in other venues.
The show runs continues at 8 p.m. Saturday and concludes with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. Admission is $5, $3 for senior citizens and students, and $1 for students in the Frankfort Independent School District.
Directed by Karen Hatter, Deadwood Dick smacks of the Old West, with six-gun heroes, lily-pure maidens, black-hearted gamblers, and saloon girls to make you stop in your tracks. Taggart has fashioned a Gay 90s (thats 1890s!) melodrama that contains all the hilarious elements that the audience will expect long-lost daughters, stolen gold mines, kidnapped heroines, and hairbreadth escapes!
Zach Newman, Sam Crowe, Amy Whitenack and Natalie Waddle designed the set for this show; and it is being stage managed by juniors Rheldi Purdy and Anna Murphy.
Seniors in the cast are Luis Antillon, Davis Bates, Courtney Cox, Lynley Cracraft, Kenya Cummings, Jared Deaton, Sara Early, Clay Gibson, Katie Halloran, Ben Lassiter, Caitlin LeMay, Ellen Long, Shantae McNear, Matt Mitchell, Lee Myers-White, Megan Newberry, Remy Okonkwo, Rob Oliver, Melissa Raine, Marla Shannon, Krista Shelton, Chris Smith, Danielle Thomas, Josh Toftness, Adam Waldner, Allison Wells, Jessica Williams, Daniel Wilson, Alex Wood and Mary Julia Yagel.
