Hall, Wright win essay contest

Jordan Hall and Ryan Wright were winners of the Optimist Essay Contest, sponsored by the Frankfort Optimist Club and the Capital City Optimist Club.

Their essays competed at the District level, which included essays from Optimist Clubs in Kentucky and West Virginia.

Rutherford receives masters

Maria C. Rutherford recently received the master of education degree from Regent Universitys School of Education. Rutherford was one of more than 938 graduates who attended the universitys largest-ever graduation at which the schools 10,000th degree was conferred.

Rutherford graduated from Western Hills High School in 1982. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Asbury College in 1986. She is the daughter of Dauser and Bonnie Rutherford, Frankfort.

Rutherford is the principal of Abundant Life Christian Academy, Lawrenceburg.

Wade on EKU Deans List

Mollie Wade, a junior at Eastern Kentucky University, has been added to the Deans List after achieving a 4.0 grade point average in the spring semester. She is the daughter of David and Martha Wade, and is studying business. She is a 2004 graduate of Western Hills High School.
