Here’s this week’s information about the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac. If you need to be in touch with me, my contact information is at the end of the accompanying column.
The moon is in the dark phase now and will remain there throughout this week until the next new moon – or no moon visible in the sky – on March 22 at 10:37 a.m. Until then be planting only below-ground producers – and there are plenty of them for the spring garden if it’s dry enough – and participating in dark moon activities.
TODAY: Libra (the reins) concludes a five-day series ruled by flowering signs, making this yet another bloom day. Moon is in the dark phase.
Monday-Tuesday: Scorpio (the secrets), a very fertile sign for planting below-ground producers if it’s dry enough.
Wednesday-Friday: Sagittarius (the thighs) kicks off a seven-day series of so-so signs – not real fertile but not killing ones either, just so-so. Moon in dark phase.
Saturday and next Sunday: Capricorn (the knees), next so-so days, still dark moon.
Monday and Tuesday, March 19-20: Aquarius (the legs), final so-so days, moon dark.
Make changes: The period beginning Wednesday, March 14 and continuing through Wednesday, March 21 is an ideal one for making changes like starting a diet, exercise program, stopping smoking, scheduling elective surgery – anything that calls for a change being made. The moon is in the dark phase and the signs are going out of the body past anything that functions.
Adding to the sequence above is Pisces (the feet) on the 21st. Just be underway by the 22nd when the moon moves to the light phase although the sign is still in the feet and most definitely by March 23 when the killing sign Aries (the head) comes to rule.
And to show you I am a firm believer in what I write: I have scheduled an appointment with the oral surgeon to have a bothersome wisdom tooth removed on Monday, March 19 – sign in the legs (Aquarius) and moon in the dark phase. A perfect day for it even though the 21st would have been better – sign in the feet (Pisces) and moon still dark.
