Vacation Bible School Calendar


Several Vacation Bible Schools begin Sunday or Monday so we’re running the calendar again today. Here are the ones we’ve heard about. Most have numbers to call for more information and are open to the public.

If you would like to have your VBS listed here, please send the information to Philip Case,, drop it by the newspaper, 1216 Wilkinson Blvd., or mail it in.

>North Fork Baptist Church, 3660 Rocky Branch Road:  VBS June 24-28, 6:15-8:15, for children entering grades 3-8. Dinner each night from 5:30-6:15.  Theme:  “Babylon, Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.”  On Thursday, June 28, the VBS will conclude with a short program and cookout for students, family and friends.  For more information, call 695-1499.

>Farmdale Baptist, 5610 US 127 S: June 24-28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The theme is “Space Quest – John 14:6.”

>Truth Baptist Church, 340 Holmes St., June 24-27, 6-8 p.m., ages 4-12. Commencement will be Wednesday with a cookout for families. For more information or van pick up, call 682-4167.

>First Presbyterian Church, 416 W. Main St: June 24-27, 5:30-8 p.m., ages 3 through sixth grade, light supper served. For more call the church office at 502-223-8577.

>Evergreen Baptist Church, Evergreen Road at Cardwell Lane: June 25-28. 6-8 p.m. with a meal at 5:30. For more information call 223-8364.

>North Frankfort Baptist Church, Owenton Road: June 25-29, 6-8 p.m. for ages 4-12. Theme: “Babylon – Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.” Snacks served each night. For more information call 223-3518.

>Crestwood Baptist Church, 1006 East Main St., July 8-12, 6-8:30 p.m. Theme: “Backstage with the Bible.” For more information call the church, 695-2088.

>Bethel Baptist Church, 8200 Owenton Rd., one-day VBS on Saturday, July 14-10, a.m.-3 p.m. Theme: “Bethel’s Water Wonderland.” Activities include: lesson, crafts, music, water games, dunking booth, cookout, and popsicles. Bring a towel and suitable clothing for outdoor/wet activities. Transportation available by calling 227-7278 or 352-4259 for information or transportation.
