Weddings and Engagements: July 22



Michele Lynn Stokes, daughter of Lee Allen Stokes of Glasgow and Conne Jane Stokes of Frankfort, and James “Jim” Edward Barnes, son of Kathy Devers of Frankfort, were married June 19, 2012, 8 p.m. at the restored lighthouse at St. George Island, Fla.

The daughters of the bride and groom stood with their parents during the ceremony – Destinee Tyson, daughter of the bride, and Ashley Barnes and Sarah Barnes, daughters of the groom.

David Lacy Newnam was best man.

Mrs. Barnes attended Kentucky State University and is currently employed by the Cabinet for Health in Family Services within Human Resources.

Mr. Barnes is attending BCTCS, where he is working on a registered nursing degree. He is the owner of Barnes Best Way Carpet Care and Broken Arrow Taxidermy.


Donna Gale Coulter and Anthony Edwin Mullins were married July 13, 2012, 7:30 pm., at Liberty Hall Historic Site.

Tesah Vanover and Megan Vanover were the bride’s attendants.

Will Dempsey and Clay Dempsey were the groom’s attendant and usher.

Mr. and Mrs. Mullins are making their home in Frankfort.

Mrs. Mullins is a student at Ashford University studying social sciences. She is employed at Owen County Primary School in Owenton.

Mr. Mullins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Mullins of Grove City, Ohio. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and is employed by the Department of Financial Institutions in Frankfort.


Kara Marie Bavery, daughter of Todd and Kelly Bavery of Geneva, Ill., and Zachary Hughes Wolfe, son of Charles and Susan Wolfe of Frankfort, were married Oct. 15, 2011, at Fox Valley Country Club in North Aurora, Ill. The Rev. William D. Wolfe of Colorado Springs, Colo., uncle of the groom, performed the ceremony.

Stephanie Liske, of Lexington Park, Md., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Jenna and Devon Bavery, of Geneva, and Tami Bejger, of Aurora, Ill.

Shawn Brown, of Portland, Ore., was best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Wolfe, brother of the groom, of Frankfort; Sam Bavery, brother of the bride, of Minneapolis, and Adam Thomas, of Boston. Mr. Brown and Mr. Thomas are former residents of Frankfort.

A reception at Fox Valley Country Club followed the ceremony.

The Wolfes are making their home in Owings Mills, Md.

Mrs. Wolfe is a 2007 graduate of Illinois State University with bachelor’s degrees in history and political science and a master’s degree in political science. She is employed by Hanover Insurance Co., in Baltimore, Md.

Mr. Wolfe is a 2002 graduate of Western Hills High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgetown College in 2006 and a master’s in political science from Illinois State University in 2009. He is employed by Laureate International in Baltimore.


Scott and Carol Coleman Silliman of Springfield, Ill., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Erin Silliman, to Patrick Jump, son of Ronnie and Sally Jump of Frankfort.

Ms. Silliman is a 2006 graduate of Springfield High School and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University, where she earned a degree in music education. She is currently completing her master’s degree in choral conducting at Murray State and is employed as an elementary school music teacher in Shelbyville.

Mr. Jump is a 2007 graduate of Franklin County High School and a 2011 graduate of Murray State University, where he graduated sum laude with a bachelor of science degree in theatre. He is currently employed by Actor’s Theatre of Louisville.

A closed wedding is planned for July 28.


Steve and Marsha Rucker, and Steve and Sarah Smith announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Beth Smith of Frankfort, to Paul Matthew Richardson of Lexington, son of Chris and Karen Richardson of Louisville.

Ms. Smith received a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer science from the University of Kentucky and master’s of counseling from Eastern Kentucky University. She is employed at Tates Creek Middle School.

Mr. Richardson received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky. He is employed by the Kentucky Department of Revenue.

The wedding will be Oct. 20 at the Kentucky History Center.

An open wedding will be observed.
