Aug. 25 sale at Providence
A Children’s Consignment Sale will be held at Providence Baptist Church, Georgetown Road, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. This is a great opportunity for you to sell your gently used baby and children’s items such as beds, high chairs, activity centers, changing tables, toys, books, DVDs, bottles, and clothes.
Seventy-five percent of the profit will be returned to you and 25 percent will be donated to “Avenues for Women.” If you would like to consign, detailed information at www.pbcfrankfort.org or call Peggy Rayborn 320-9087. The deadline for consignors is Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Choateville plans Bible conference
The Bluegrass Bible Conference 2012 is set for Friday through Sunday, Aug. 17-19 at Choateville Christian Church, 1533 Devils Hollow Rd. The theme is “Conformed or Transformed: The Word of the World vs. The Word of God.”
Speakers include Dr. Jack Cottrell, Dr. George Faull, Dr. Harvey Bream and others. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge for attending and DVDs of all speakers will be available following the conference.

EFBC celebrating 50 years
Members and friends of East Frankfort Baptist Church, 457 Versailles Rd., will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the church’s founding will a special service Sunday, 11 a.m., led by Dr. John Withers. “Praise and Worship Through Music” is at 6:30 p.m., led by Bo Warren.
The church was founded in 1962. The public is invited to both services.
Church plans ‘Basket Meeting’
The annual Basket Meeting Service will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Greenhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Dinner will be served immediately after morning worship. The afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m. with music provided by the Greater Voices of Greenhill Baptist and the visiting choir.
Gospel music series continues
Crestwood Baptist Church, 1006 E. Main St., continues its series of Old Time Southern Gospel Concerts beginning at 6 p.m. each Sunday in August. Fellowship and refreshments will follow each performance. For more information call 695-2088.
