Consignment sale is Saturday at PBC

A Children’s Consignment Sale will be held at Providence Baptist Church, Georgetown Road, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. Twenty-five percent of the profit will be donated to “Avenues for Women.” For more information, visit www.pbcfrankfort.org or call Peggy Rayborn 320-9087.

McAliley’s concert Saturday at Bridgeport

A one-man concert featuring Keith McAliley, minister of Bridgeport Christian Church, will be held Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. at the church, 175 Evergreen Rd. McAliley will play several instruments during concert. There’ll be homemade ice cream and cake after the concert.

There’s no admission but a freewill offering will be taken to be used to underwrite the scholarship fund of the Helping Hands Circle.

St. Paul continues 50th anniversary year

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1800 Louisville Rd., continues the celebration of the 50th anniversary of its founding with a special worship service Sunday in memory of former pastor the late Rev. Danny Williams, 1968-76. His widow, Sarah, will be sharing about his time as pastor. A reception will follow the service.

Chautauqua concludes at FUMC

First United Methodist Church’s 26th annual Chautauqua series concludes with Sunday’s 7 p.m. program in Asbury Hall in the church’s Wesley Center. The evening features Penny Loafers, smooth music from the 1950s sung a capella by a male quartet.

Gospel music series concludes

The final program in Crestwood Baptist Church’s series of Old Time Southern Gospel Concert is at 6 p.m. Sunday with Crestwood’s Old Fashion Night. Refreshments will follow the performance. For more information call 695-2088. The church is at 1006 E. Main St.

Evergreen offering help with homework

Evergreen Baptist Church, 2698 Evergreen Rd., is again offering a free after school homework assistance and tutoring program on Thursday afternoons beginning Sept. 13th.  This is for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade.  Hours will be from 3-5 p.m. each Thursday that school is in session.

A snack will also be provided.  Additional information and enrollment forms can be obtained by calling the church office at 223-8364 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays.
