Capital City Boys at Calvary Oct. 21

Calvary Baptist Church, in conjunction with Providence and North Fork Baptist Churches, will host the Capital City Boys Quartet in a 6 p.m. concert Sunday, Oct. 21 at Calvary Baptist Church, 36 Schoolhouse Rd. Light snacks will be provided following the concert. The public is invited, and a love offering will be taken.

The Capital City Boys, a local favorite, say their mission is to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ in song to all who will listen. The group is composed of Chris Woodyard, Josh Martin, Kelly Briscoe, Alan Taylor and Danny Hughes.

‘Blessing of Animals’ service Oct. 21 at HCC

Highland Christian Church, Versailles Road at Lyons Drive, will host a Blessings of Animals service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 in the yard behind the playground. All leashed or crated pets are welcome. Also bring appropriate supplies to clean up after your pet. For more information call 875-3100 or email kmwarren@fewpb.net.

Fireside Worship at Hope every October Wednesday

Hope Lutheran Church, 1251 Louisville Rd., will hold Fireside Worship every Wednesday in October beginning at 6:30 p.m.  All are welcome for a casual outdoor worship experience around a campfire. For more information, call the church at 227-9950.

Quest Church news

Here are several items of interest from Quest Community Church, 2250 Lawrenceburg Rd.

>Questapalooza Week was held Sept. 9-16 and as part of the church’s “I Love Frankfort” campaign, members spent time during the week honoring and serving people in town. The church held a youth event, kids event, and family event.

Members served the following groups around Frankfort: every school in Franklin County, Waste Management workers, members of the Police and Fire Departments, the Access Soup Kitchen, Kings Center and more.

>Family Movie Night is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct 19. A family-friendly movie will be screened. Supper will be available for a small charge and there’ll be free popcorn.

Church-sponsored Halloween activities

>Nightmare On 2nd Street: Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, 830 Shadrick Ferry Road, and Capital Restoration & Automotive Service, 106 W. 2nd St., are sponsoring a haunted house called “Nightmare On 2nd Street” at the restoration service. It will be open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in October from 7 p.m. until close. Regular admission is $7 and express admission is $13. An adult must accompany children under 12. Concessions will be sold. Located at 106 W. 2nd Street.

>Trunk-or-Treat: North Benson Baptist Church, 4845 Devils Hollow Rd., will be holding trunk-or-treat from 6-8 p.m. Halloween, Oct. 31. There will be games for kids, a costume contest at 5:30 and candy.

>Tailgate Trick or Treat: Questapalooza Church, 2250 Lawrenceburg Rd., is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. There will be candy, a bonfire, hot chocolate and supper for a small charge.

>Family Fun Night for children through age 11 is planned for Saturday, Oct. 27, 6 p.m., at New Harvest Assembly of God, 3864 US Hwy 127 South. There will be a bonfire, roasted hot dogs, marshmallows, a movie, games, pumpkin decorating, and a hayride.  Costumes are welcome, but no costumes that are scary, demonic, or revealing in nature.
