CCCC plans ‘mobile lock-in’

An area-wide student “mobile lock-in” for all middle and high school students is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17, 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. planned by Capital City Christian Church, 15 Locust Lane at Versailles Road.

Participants should meet at the church for a night of food and fun. The cost is $20/person. For more information call 695-1188.

Lokey-Robinson speaking at WIGS

Tyra Lokey-Robinson will be the guest speaker at the Women in God’s Service Ministry (WIGS) meeting on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m., at 649 Charity Court.  This event is open to all women at no cost with food provided, but donations are accepted.  For more information, visit WIGS on the Web @ http://wigsministry.com/.

Program to benefit foster children

Camp Pleasant Baptist Church is sponsoring Franklin County’s Foster Children for Christmas to help give foster children a better Christmas. All donations need to be in by Dec. 1 and may be sent to:

Morning Pointe, NBBC holding food drive

Morning Pointe of Frankfort and North Benson Baptist Church are planning a food drive to benefit the Frankfort Soup Kitchen, Nov. 15-30. Nonperishable items can be dropped off at the front lobby of the senior living community.

All families and friends of Morning Pointe will gather for a special Thanksgiving dinner on the 18th. Every family will share a special dish adding to the annual event and this year everyone will also bring items to donate for the food drive to benefit the Frankfort Soup Kitchen.

Highland plans sale of items from oak

Highland Christian Church, Versailles Road at Lyons Drive, is having a two-day sale featuring items made from the wood of the oak tree that stood for many years in the church’s front yard. The sale is set for Friday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, 8-2.

On Friday, there will be a chili luncheon from 11-1 for $6 per person with pancakes available at Saturday’s sale, 8-10, also for $6 per person. There will be a drawing for a large live edge bowl on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased anytime. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
