Planting by the Signs: Moon in light phase, so-so signs in force through Wednesday

By Philip Case Published:

For those of you doing anything according to the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac, here’s the information for the week ahead.

The moon is in the light phase now and will continue there until the full moon at 9:46 a.m. Nov. 28. Until then proceed with only light moon activities until the next full moon.

A look at the signs finds our monthly series of so-so signs continuing thorough Wednesday. Specifically, Capricorn (knees) is in force today and Monday followed by Aquarius (the legs) ruling Tuesday and Wednesday. These signs are not outstandingly fertile but they’re not destructive either.

The week closes out with Pisces (the feet) ruling Thanksgiving Day through Saturday. Pisces is one of the most fertile signs and the moon is in the light phase all three days.

All planting or fooling with anything you want to thrive should cease next Sunday and Monday, Nov. 25-26, when the sign moves to Aries (the head) one of the two killing signs. Reserve these signs for killing or deadening, not planting.

Let’s finish out the month while we’re here, shall we?

Fertile planting is on tap for Nov. 27-28 when the sign moves to Taurus (the neck). Nov. 27 is in the light of the moon while the phase changes to dark moon on Nov. 28.

Gemini (the arms) wraps up November on the 29th-30th. This, of course, is the bean sign but there isn’t much bean related going on right now.

I’m delighted to report I believe we’ll have home-grown tomatoes on the table for our Thanksgiving dinner if I can mollycoddle them along for a few more days!

These tomatoes were grown in the protected courtyard area of our house out west of Bridgeport and picked a couple of weeks ago prior to an evening of high 20s.

Some have gone bad, some are still green but I think there’ll be enough for everyone to have a few slices on Turkey Day. And this, friends, is a first for me!
