Morning Pointe, NBBC food drive thru Friday

Morning Pointe of Frankfort and North Benson Baptist Church are conducting a food drive to benefit the Frankfort Soup Kitchen through the end of November, which is Friday. Nonperishable items can be dropped off at the front lobby of the senior living community.

CPBC collecting for foster children

Camp Pleasant Baptist Church is working to provide Christmas for the foster children of Franklin County.  There will be volunteers at busy intersections from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday holding stockings for donations.

New Harvest night for special needs kids

New Harvest Assembly of God will hold a date or present-shopping night for parents of children with special needs on Saturday, Dec. 1, 5-8 p.m. at the church, 3864 US Hwy 127 S. The night will consist of a snack, craft, and other fun activities for children with special needs and their siblings, ages 3-12.

This event is free and any donations will go to the Children’s Ministry at New Harvest. If any of your children has a severe allergy, we ask that you call us so that we can plan accordingly. For more information, call (502) 682-3856

Good Shepherd blessing new buildings Dec. 2

Members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Shepherd’s Way off Leestown Road, will join in a service of blessing following the 10:30 a.m. mass on Sunday, Dec. 2 for three new buildings that have been completed on the campus.

The buildings are the Parish Staff Office, school building and gymnasium. An open house will be held sometime in January.

Highland plans sale of items from oak

Highland Christian Church, Versailles Road at Lyons Drive, is having a two-day sale featuring items made from the wood of the oak tree that stood for many years in the church’s front yard.

The sale is set for Friday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8, 8-2.

On Friday, there will be a chili luncheon from 11-1 for $6 per person with pancakes available at Saturday’s sale, 8-10, also for $6 per person. There will be a drawing for a large live edge bowl on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased anytime. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
