Planting by the Signs: Moon is in dark phase until early Thursday

By Philip Case, Published:

For those of you interested in information regarding the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac, here it is. While we’re not doing any outside planting right now, if you’re repotting or planting inside or in the greenhouse, then there’s absolutely no reason not to follow the phases and signs since weather is no factor.

The moon is in the dark phase now and will continue there until the new moon comes into force at 3:42 a.m. Thursday. Through Wednesday be involved in only dark moon activities and then for most of Thursday and until the next full moon at 5:21 a.m. on Dec. 28, it’s the light moon that’s ruling.

A look at the signs reveals today, Monday and Tuesday are ruled by the very fertile sign Scorpio (the secrets), one of the four most fertile signs. All three of these days – and Wednesday, too – are ruled by the dark moon for below-ground-type planting.

The monthly series of so-so signs begins Wednesday and continues through Dec. 19. Specifically, Sagittarius (thighs) rules Wednesday and Thursday with the moon moving to the light phase early on Thursday; Capricorn (knees) is up for Friday, Saturday and next Sunday and the series concludes with Aquarius (legs) ruling Dec. 17-19.

If we had one more Sagittarius day we’d have a full house of so-so days for this month! But as it is, eight is plenty!
