‘The Reason for God’ study begins at Memorial Baptist
Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes St. is offering a six-week special study based on the book, “The Reason for God” by Dr. Timothy Keller. Varying subjects from the book will be discussed each week at the church and all are invited to this free event.
Each session will be available at two different times: Sundays between 9:30 and 10:40 a.m. during our regular Bible Study hour and then repeated on Monday evenings between 6:30 and 7:40 p.m. Subjects for discussion and dates are as follows:

Classes begin Wednesday at Capital City
These groups will begin meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Capital City Christian Church, Versailles Road at Locust Lane. Ministries for children and youth are available at this time for those who have need of them. A fellowship meal is provided beginning at 5:30.
Financial Peace University: What would your life look like if you had no debt and were really in control of your money? Let Dave Ramsey and his team of experts help you get rid of your debt. FPU is designed to teach you how to get out of debt, stay out of debt and build your wealth. The average family will eliminate $5,300 worth of debt while saving $2,700. Cost for participating in the class is $90, which covers the cost of the FPU kit provided by Ramsey.
DivorceCare: Unfortunately many in our community are finding themselves in the midst of a divorce. With divorce comes many questions, many emotions and many uncertainties. DivorceCare is there to help you find help, discover hope and experience healing as you travel this road with others who find themselves in similar situations. Cost for participation in the class is $15, which covers the costs of the workbook.
Griefshare: Griefshare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Griefshare is a DVD-driven discussion featuring some of the top experts in grief recovery. Griefshare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Cost for participating in the class is $15, which covers the cost of the workbook.
Do not let the costs associated with the groups prevent you from attending any of the support ministries. Capital City will provide assistance to those who are unable to afford the cost of the needed materials. Camp Pleasant news
‘New Beginnings Dinner’
Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, 830 Shadrick Ferry Rd., will hold a “New Beginnings Dinner” beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and the public is invited. There will be door prizes.
Free soup program
Members of the church are making soup for Frankfort residents to be delivered on Jan. 24 or 25. Some 40 homes will be selected from those who call the church from Monday, Jan. 21 through Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Call the church at 227-5144 and leave your address and home phone number at extension 10. The program is limited to Frankfort and Franklin County residents.
