WFCofG youth set Valentine’s banquet
The B.R.A.T.S (Youth) and Teens of West Frankfort Church of God, 1518 Louisville Rd., will host a Valentine’s banquet beginning 6:30 p.m. Friday in the church fellowship hall. The cost is $10/individual or $15/couple.
The meal includes a choice of soup, sandwich, dessert and drink. Also included will be a 4x4 color event picture. Area merchants will provide door prizes. For more information contact Carrie Hall, 695-7161.
NFBC plans benefit concert
The “Run for the Son Benefit Concert,” including a chili supper and silent auction, will be held 5-9 p.m. Saturday at North Frankfort Baptist Church, 7945 Owenton Rd. The Christian Motorcyclist Association and the Capital City Riders for Christ Chapter 2756 sponsor the event.

‘The Reason for God’ study continues at Memorial
One topic remains in Memorial Baptist Church’s study based on the book, “The Reason for God” by Dr. Timothy Keller. The remaining session is offered at two different times: Sunday between 9:30 and 10:40 a.m. during the regular Bible Study hour and then Monday evening, 6:30 and 7:40 p.m.
Feb. 10-11: “How Can God Be Full of Love and Wrath at the Same Time?”/“How Can God Send Good People to Hell?”

New series begins Wednesday at Immanuel
A series of classes based on the video “Living the Questions: An Introduction to Progressive Christianity” begins 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the fellowship hall at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane.
Dr. Chuck Queen, author of four books on progressive Christian themes and “A Fresh Perspective,” which appears monthly in The State Journal, is teaching the class. The class is open to the public.
