Valentine event

Saturday at CPBC

A Valentine dinner and dance is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, 803 Shadrick Ferry Rd. The cost is $10/single and $15/couple. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the church or at the door. The public is invited.

The evening will feature an Italian dinner and dessert with dancing to top off the night with music by DJ Nathan Hedger. Proceeds from this event go to Camp Pleasant’s youth group, The BAND (Born Again to Never Die).

Quartet performing

March 2 at Capital City

“Brian Free and Assurance” will perform 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at Capital City Christian Church, 15 Locust Lane at Versailles Rd. Admission is $10 per person at the door. For more information call 695-1188.

‘movie nights’

First Church of God, 1029 Burlington Dr., is holding movie nights beginning Feb. 24th. Here’s the schedule: Feb. 24, “Facing the Giants;” March 3, “Fireproof;” and March 10, “Courageous.” Call the church for details, 223-8451.

Series continues at Immanuel

A series of classes based on the video “Living the Questions: An Introduction to Progressive Christianity” is being held 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the fellowship hall at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane.

Dr. Chuck Queen, author of four books on progressive Christian themes and “A Fresh Perspective,” which appears monthly in The State Journal, is teaching the class. The class is open to the public.
