Choateville food pantry open Saturday
God’s Plentiful Pantry at Choateville Christian Church, 1533 Devils Hollow Road, will be open 10 a.m.-noon Saturday offering food on a first come, first served basis to citizens of Franklin County. The pantry is open the first and third Saturday every month. For more information call 502-875-4710.
Consignment sale is Saturday
A children’s consignment sale will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church, Georgetown Road. For more information, call Michelle Barnes, 502-320-4716 or visit www.pbcfrankfort.org. Twenty-five percent of each sale is being donated to the Franklin County Women’s Shelter. After 1 p.m., many remaining items will be reduced by up to 50 percent.
Greenhill Baptist holding basket meeting program
Greenhill Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual basket meeting program Sunday. Morning and afternoon services will be held with associate Pastor Terrance E. Moore of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Paris, preaching at the 11 a.m. service and Pastor Robert A. Morton, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, at 3 p.m.
The church was founded in 1891. Basket meeting is an annual event held the third Sunday of August. Present and former members and members from sister churches are invited. Dinner is served after the morning service.
Chautauqua at First Methodist
Chautauqua 2013 at First Methodist Church, 211 Washington St., continues 6 p.m. Sunday with “Worship In Song” featuring contemporary hymns from the newest United Methodist hymnal with the same title.
The final program in the series is Aug. 23 when the Capital City Community Band, under the direction of Thomas Brawner III, entertains. The program is free and childcare is provided.
