‘Back to Church Sunday’
Sunday has been designated “National Back to Church Sunday.” Our community offers a choice of churches in all denominations — and non-denominational — with a variety of attendant programs. If you’re looking for a church, check the offerings on the “Churches” page elsewhere in today’s edition.
Church plans Saturday fish fry
West Frankfort Church of God, 1518 Louisville Road, will hold a fish fry 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go to the church’s “Handful on Purpose Food Bank.” Carryout will be available.
North Fork’s annual picnic set for Sunday
North Fork Baptist Church, 3660 Rocky Branch Road, will hold its annual picnic Sunday in the Ministry Center following Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 10:45. The public is invited. For more information call 502-695-1499.
South Frankfort church
plans Sunday Rally Day
South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Third and Steele streets, is holding Rally Day Sunday. The day begins the church school year, introduces new classes and recognizes Christian educators.
It begins at 10 a.m. for the Sunday School Celebration for children, youth and families upstairs in the sanctuary, followed by the 10:55 worship service focusing on Christian education throughout life and commissioning of teachers.
The day will end with a 5-7 p.m. Rally Day Roundup Cookout at the church for children, youth and families (bring side dish or dessert). Everyone is welcome.
LAWRENCEBURG — Penny’s Chapel Community Church, 300 Lincoln St. (Harvey Hall building), will celebrate a church anniversary Sunday. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. followed by worship at 11 featuring gospel singing groups, church choirs and soloists. Lunch will be served. For more information call 502-895-0936.
