The entertainment committee of the Bluegrass Theatre Guild’s 30th season celebration is inviting past Guild performers to sing in a reunion chorus for the event Nov. 2. Committee chairs Hollis Rosenstein and Sally Jump are preparing a presentation for the celebration that will feature music from many of the musicals the Guild has produced over the years.
Performers will be asked to attend three rehearsals in order to rehearse the chorus numbers, which include an SATB arrangement of Rodgers and Hammerstein music.
“We have a basic idea of the chorus numbers we want to prepare,” said Rosenstein. “Solos will depend on the availability of specific cast members.”
The first rehearsal will be 7 p.m. Monday in the choir room of First Baptist Church, St. Clair Street. Participants should park in the Sullivan Garage at the end of Ann Street and enter across the alley.
“We hope to have folks from many of our productions sing with us in order to truly represent the past of the Guild and build toward the future,” said Jump. “We are inviting anyone who was cast in any BTG production, including the children’s theater productions to be a part of this reunion chorus.”
Those who want to participate but are not available Monday should contact Jump at 502-695-5830 as soon as possible.
