Blessing of animals Saturday at First Christian
A “blessing of the animals” service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of First Christian Church, 316 Ann St. All are invited to bring their pet(s) for a blessing. The custom remembers St. Francis of Assisi and his love of animals.
Church plans Saturday yard sale
The ladies and youth ministries of West Frankfort Church of God, 1518 Louisville Road are holding a yard sale beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church. The youth will be selling chilidogs, chips and drinks.
Motorcycle riders plan 2 benefits
Capital Riders for Christ, the Frankfort Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, is hosting a pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes St. Donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to the work of missionaries in the Association’s “Run for the Son.”
A benefit ride for the Galilean Home in Liberty will follow with riders leaving the pancake breakfast at 10 a.m. traveling to Jack Kain Ford and departing from there. The donation is $10/rider and $5/passenger. For more information call Mike or Teresa Walden at 502-875-3504 or 502-330-8114.
Madrid speaking at Good Shepherd
Television and radio host Patrick Madrid will present “Turn Away From Childish Things and Become the Man Christ Wants You to Be” 10:30 a.m. Oct. 12 at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 72 Shepherd Way. A mass at 8:30 and breakfast at 10 preced his talk.
Madrid will examine the practical things Christian men can do to live out St. Paul’s teaching on Christian maturity, what dangers must be avoided, and the benefits this has for happy marriages, effective parenting, personal fulfillment and salvation.

Three-day revival set for Harvieland
A revival is planned for 6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12 and 11 a.m. Oct. 12 at Harvieland United Methodist Church, 2309 Flat Creek Road. Music will be a part of each service with Bro. Jim Hitt speaking at the Friday and Saturday services and Bro. Larry Hall Sunday.
