Here’s this week’s information regarding the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac for any planting, transplanting or other activities you are involved in.
The moon is in the light phase now, the new moon — or no moon visible in the sky — having come into force Friday. It continues to rule until the full moon, called the Hunter’s Moon, comes into force 7:38 p.m. Oct. 18.
If you have a driveway or farm road that needs gravel, this is a great time for it with the moon in the light phase.
A look at the signs reveals today and Monday are both ruled by the very fertile sign Scorpio (the secrets). These would be great days for repotting plants you’re planning to keep indoors over the winter, getting them all cleaned up and ready to come inside.
The shock of that change in and of itself is considerable and the plants will be a lot happier if they’re in good surroundings — like a clean pot.
Our monthly series of so-so signs begins Tuesday and continues through Oct. 14. Remember these signs aren’t good or bad, just so-so.
Tuesday and Wednesday are ruled by Sagittarius (the thighs); Thursday through Saturday by Capricorn (the knees); and the series concludes with Aquarius (the legs) in force Oct. 13-14.
Although the moon is in the light phase, these are the best signs for making changes. The formula — dark moon/signs going out of the body past anything that functions — won’t be perfect for several months now so we need to make do with what we have and this is at least half of it.
