Here’s this week’s information regarding the phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac for any planting, transplanting or other activities you are involved in.
The moon continues in the dark phase now with the full moon, called the Hunter’s Moon in force until 7:50 a.m. Nov. 3. I hope we have some clear nights to enjoy this magnificent spectacle!
Proceed now with dark moon activities.
A look at the signs reveals today, Monday and Tuesday are all ruled by Taurus (the neck), one of the four most fertile signs with the moon in the dark phase.
Wednesday and Thursday find Gemini (the arms) in force. Gemini is, as we should certainly know by now, the bean sign but there ain’t no bean plantin’ goin’ on in these parts!
The fertile sign Cancer (the breast) comes to rule Friday and Saturday. Like Taurus, it’s one of the four most fertile signs for planting.
The killing sign Leo (the heart) is on tap for next Sunday and Monday, Oct. 27-28. On a Leo or Aries (the head) day it’s best not to be foolin’ with anything you’d like to see thrive.
The month concludes with the moon still in he dark phase and the flowering signs in force. Virgo (the bowels) rules Oct. 29-30 followed by Libra (the reins) Oct. 31-Nov. 1. Great bloom days for fall flowers or planting bulbs that will sprout and bloom in the spring.
Send in your weather predictions
After my column last week about winter weather predicting with Mother Nature as our guide, several readers reported their sightings, observations and conclusions.
I’d like to have you join that group.
Find a woolly or two, take a walk and look at the trees, check out the coat on your dog, the bushiness of a squirrel’s tail, etc., and let me hear from you.
Email is the best way (see below) or you drop your conclusion by or snail mail it to: The State Journal, 1216 Wilkinson Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601.
