'Lamb of God' musical to be presented at 2 Frankfort churches this weekend

Special to The State Journal, Published:

A group of local musicians will present Andrew Peterson’s critically acclaimed musical, “Behold the Lamb of God: the True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Capital City Christian Church, Versailles Road at Locust Lane, and 6 p.m. Sunday at Buck Run Baptist Church, Georgetown Road.

The musical is a departure from typical Christmas presentations that center on holiday classics. It peers deeply into the Old Testament, walking chronologically through the historic events that culminated in the birth of Christ. The songs range in style from Bluegrass, to folk, to Epic World Rock.

Musicians and vocalists include John Bennett, Adam Bishop, Ron Dillard, Andrew Dodson, Joe Hislope, Dan Hughes, Derek Hughes, Lucy Karsner, David Martin, Josh Martin, Joe Meyer, Sadie Meyer and Steve Smith. Together, they represent eight different church fellowships and multiple denominations.

Admission is free and childcare is offered for ages 4 and under. A love offering will be taken to help support the local Avenues for Women crisis pregnancy help center. For more information, visit http://btlogfrankfort.com.
