Capital City Christian Church, Locust Lane, “Behold the Lamb of God: the True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ,” 6:30 p.m. A presentation in word and song. Admission is free; a love offering will be taken to support the Avenues for Women crisis pregnancy help center. There will be a free nursery for those 4 and under.

Saturday

>WADDY — The Mountain Empire Athletic League’s seventh annual Christmas Gala and Santa Claus Back Woods Parade is 12:30-4:30 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church, 2378 Waddy Rd. For complete information call 502-682-8946.

>Bridgeport Christian Church, 175 Evergreen Road, “Longest Night Service,” 7 p.m. A special time for those who find the winter holidays difficult, this is a quiet service of candlelight, meditation and remembrance.

Sunday

>Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, 495 Duckers Road, Midway, presents “What Sweeter Music,” a festival of carols by the church’s choir, orchestra, children’s choir and soloists at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

>Highland Christian Church, 266 Versailles Road, Chancel Choir cantata at 10:45 a.m.

>South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Third and Steele streets, the choir will lead a service of lessons and carols at the 10:55 service.

>Hope Lutheran Church, 1251 Louisville Road will hold a Blue Christmas Service at 2 p.m.

>The Grand Theatre will screen “It’s A Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart at 2 p.m. and “Elf” at 5 p.m. Admission to each movie is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets are available at the door.

>First Church of God, 1029 Burlington Lane, will host a concert featuring David Konstantopoulos (David K) at 6 p.m. He is a flutist and speaker. There is no admission but an offering for the artist will be taken.

>Buck Run Baptist Church, Georgetown Road, “Behold the Lamb of God: the True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ,” 6 p.m.

>St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1800 Louisville Rd., presents “Sing and Rejoice,” a Christmas cantata at the 11 a.m. service and a children’s Christmas program, “Who is Gabriel?” at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

>Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, 830 Shadrick Ferry Road, will have a children’s play, “Away in a Manger,” at 6 p.m.

>Highland Christian Church, 265 Versailles Road, lessons and carols at 5 p.m. and the church open from 6-9 for communion.

>Memorial Baptist Church, 130 Holmes St., communion at 5 p.m.

>Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane, candlelight communion at 6 p.m.

>South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Third and Steele streets, candlelight service at 6 p.m.

>First Christian Church, 316 Ann St., 7 p.m. family service in fellowship hall; 11 p.m. traditional candlelight service in the sanctuary.

>Hope Lutheran Church, 1251 Louisville Road, music at 6:30 p.m., service at 7.
