Hughes speaking at two-night revival
The Rev. Wade M. Hughes, pastor of the West Frankfort Church of God, 1518 Louisville Road, will be preaching at a two-night revival at 7 p.m. tonight and Wednesday. The public is invited.

Food drive benefit
for Back Pack program

South of Heaven Ministries and Harvieland United Methodist Church will host a joint food drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Save A Lot in the Eastwood Shopping Center. Items collected will benefit the Back Pack Food Program for Frankfort and Franklin County students. Those wishing to donate may contact Donna Parker at 502-330-9259 or Lisa Agee at 502-682-0022.

Hope Lutheran hosting choir
Hope Lutheran Church, 1251 Louisville Road, will host the Imani Gospel Choir at 4 p.m. Saturday. The choir is made up of students from around the country attending Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio. Several other church choirs and musicians will participate in the celebration.
There’s no set admission but a free will offering to help support the choir will be taken. The public is invited. For more information call  502-227-9950.

Discussion of Queen’s
book begins Sunday

A reading and discussion group focusing on the book, “Being a Progressive Christian (is not) for Dummies (nor for know-it-alls): An Evolution of Faith” begins Sunday in the fellowship hall of Immanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Collins Lane. The Rev. Dr. Chuck Queen, pastor of the church and author of the book, is leading the class that is from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Churches plan joint
Ash Wednesday service

South Frankfort Presbyterian Church, Third and Steele Streets, will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. March 5. This service is held annually in partnership with First Presbyterian Church, Frankfort.
The Rev. Dr. David Wadsworth, pastor of South Frankfort, and the Rev. Sandy Lacey, pastor of First Presbyterian Church will be officiating. The imposition of ashes and the sacrament of communion will be offered.  Everyone is welcome to participate.

‘Inspirations’ coming to Capital City
The Inspirations will be in concert at Capital City Christian Church at 7 p.m. March 6. A love offering will be taken.  The Inspirations ( are a traditional Southern Gospel male quartet from Bryson City, N.C.

South of Heaven Ministries
singing twice March 9

The singing group South of Heaven Ministries will be performing at two churches March 9.
The group will be at Peaks Mill Baptist Church, 685 Camp Pleasant Road at 11 a.m. For more information contact Ray Eastman at 502-848-4200.

Children’s items needed
for consignment sale

Those interested in consigning gently used baby and children’s items for a sale from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 22 at Providence Baptist Church, Georgetown Road, may find detailed information at or by calling Michelle Barnes at 502-320-4716. The deadline to consign is March 14.
The Sunshine Center will receive 25 percent of the profit with 75 percent to the consignors.
