Pianist Ungar to perform Saturday at Kentucky State


The Kentucky State University Division of Fine Arts, Area of Music will present concert pianist Garnet Ungar, Ph.D., in a free recital at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Carl H. Smith Auditorium of Bradford Hall. Ungar will perform four sonatas, two poignant and two cheerful, by the Baroque composer Domenico Scarlatti, along with Beethoven’s Sonata No. 7 in D Major, a masterful and well-known work featuring a sublime slow movement, and finally, works by the Russian virtuoso Sergei Rachmaninoff. He is associate professor of piano at the University of Evansville.
