Reception for
Bowers Sunday

The Rev. Dr. Herman M. Bowers will be honored at a retirement reception 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Capital Plaza Hotel. Bowers is retiring after 36 years at Trinity Baptist Church and 70 years in the ministry.

‘Inspiration Day’
set for Holly Hill

The annual Ladies Inspiration Day at Holly Hill Church of Christ, located off U.S. 127 near the Boone National Guard Center, is planned for Saturday. Registration is from 8:30-9:30 a.m., the program begins at 9, brunch is at 11 and adjournment is at 1 p.m. This year’s theme is, “Believe, Belong & Be Changed.”
The featured speaker is Celine Sparks of Huntsville, Ala. She is a humorist, a writer for Christian woman and the author of “Because I Said So.” For more information or to make a reservation, email hollyhillcoc@gmail.com. All ladies are invited to attend.

Groups plan
Saturday yard sale

South of Heaven Ministries and Harvieland United Methodist Church will hold a community yard sale 8 a.m. Saturday to benefit upcoming group projects and missions. The sale is at 1230 Chinook Trail.
Anyone wishing to donate items can contact Donna Parker at 502-330-9259 or Lisa Agee at 502-682-0022. A pick up time can be arranged. All donations are tax deductible.

Church plans
gospel meeting

LAWRENCEBURG — A gospel meeting begins Sunday and continues through Wednesday at the Lawrenceburg Church of Christ, 558 S. Main St. The event, called “Reasons to Believe,” features guest speaker W. Tom Hall of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, Bowling Green.
Services Sunday are at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. with 7 p.m. services Monday through Wednesday.
