Garland speaking at
May Friendship Day

May Friendship Day, hosted by Church Women United of Franklin County, will be held Friday at Highland Christian Church, Versailles Road and Lyons Drive. A continental breakfast will be served at 10 a.m. followed by the program at 10:30. The public invited.
Danny Garland, interim executive director of the Resource Office of Social Ministries (ROSM) will be the speaker. The Key Woman Award will be given to one of the members and Beth Avent will receive the Valiant Women Award. The Least Coin Offering, which goes to support women and children issues throughout the world, will also be received.

Play is Friday at
Capital City Christian

“A Princess and a Pea,” a farce in one act, will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday at Capital City Christian Church, Locust Lane. The Beyond the Blackboard Drama Class will perform the play. There’s no admission charge and refreshments will follow.

Liles concert is May 13
at Cornerstone church

Buddy Liles will be presented in concert at 11 a.m. May 13 at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene, 1490 Louisville Road. A potluck dinner will follow at noon. For more information call 502-875-4676.

Colhanes Dinner Theater
set for Camp Pleasant

Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, 830 Shadrick Ferry Road, is hosting the annual Colhanes Dinner Theater beginning at 6:30 p.m. May 16 and 17. The cost, which includes dinner and the show, is $10 for adults, $5 ages 12-18, free for children 6 and under, or $25 for the whole family.
The menu features pulled pork, hash brown casserole, green beans, pasta salad, beverage and dessert. For tickets in advance call the 227-5144, extension 11 and leave a message. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

Church hosting 2
events May 17-18

VERSAILLES — Two events are planned for the weekend of May 17 and 18 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 210 North Main St.
May 17: An art show and sale is set for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Hughes House lawn next to the church. The event is in conjunction with Art in the Park in Versailles and Francisco’s Farm Art Festival in Midway, and is open to all artists.
The entry fee is $25, with no other fees or commissions charged. Artists must provide their own set-ups. Contact Jane Hansen, 859-351-8544 or for more information.
May 18: The Sweet Adelines Womens Chorus will perform in a free concert at 4 pm. All are welcome.
