Do you have a favorite tree?

Heather Housman and her daughter, Sara, love this boxelder (Acer negundo) because it’s a solitary tree in a large alfalfa field. They say it reflects morning and evening light in a majestic fashion. This species provides protection for wildlife and many species of birds and squirrels eat its seeds. Also pictured is the Housman’s dog, Meg.
